Movement
Dear reader,
Do you like not moving?
Me personally I can’t stand it.
Waiting in lines or being stuck in traffic brings out a different side in me that I wish didn’t crawl out every now and then.
I don’t believe it’s wrong to want to see movement. Yet, I do believe God tells us to stop now and then to make sure we are aware of what He’s doing.
As I write this I’m at a bit of a standstill.
Which is not altogether bad in itself, yet it can be rather overwhelming at times.
The business that I believe God wants me to steward isn’t doing very well from a financial perspective.
I’ve asked God to provide jobs, clients, opportunities, mission partners, anything. Truly it seems like He wants me to stop and see what He’s done so far.
I’ve done my best to sit back and watch, but at the same time, I want to be diligent. I want to sweat over the work God’s giving me.
Even in the few things He’s giving me to do, I know and believe I’m not the best steward of them.
I want to run as fast as I can, but the reality is He’s teaching me how to walk again.
First I need to crawl.
Then I can walk.
Finally, I’ll be able to run.
Movement is decreed by God. You and I have free will, we can run at the pace we desire, but God is our trainer, our teacher.
He sets the pace we ought to be moving at.
If He wants me to crawl I will crawl the best that I can.
When he lets me stand up and start taking small steps I will be willing.
When he gives me the chance to run I will run as hard as I can.
I don’t know what pace you’re going right now. Just know this, there are chapters of your story where everything seems to move as a blur, others that move as fast as a snail on a racetrack.
The pace you have is set before you intentionally. Accept it, and move well.
Sincerely,
Your Fellow Crawling Track Star
